OSKALOOSA — Five people were recently arrested related to a burglary at Van Wall Equipment.
According to a press release from the Oskaloosa Police Department, a burglary to Van Wall equipment was reported to police on Sunday, Sept. 9. Nearly $17,000 worth of items were taken from the business, along with a truck.
During an investigation, five individuals were charged:
• David Wayne Dobson, 35, of Oskaloosa, was arrested and charged with burglary in the third degree and two counts of theft in the first degree.
• Jesse Robert Parkin, 39, of Oskaloosa, was arrested and charged with burglary in the third degree and two counts of theft in the first degree.
• Sarah Elizabeth Merchant, 31, of Oskaloosa, Jeremy Alan Merchant, 35, of Oskaloosa and Jesse James Burtlow, 25, of Oskaloosa and Ottumwa all were arrested and charged with theft in the first degree (possession of stolen property).
A criminal charge is merely an accusation and the subject is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty in a court of law.
The Mahaska County Sheriff's Office assisted the Oskaloosa Police Department with the case.
