OSKALOOSA— Wednesday morning, Oskaloosa's own Aaron Blom accepted a preferred walk-on offer to play for the Iowa Hawkeyes as a kicker.

Blom is going to be a senior for the Indians this year. He received interest from the three primary schools in the state: Iowa State, Northern Iowa, and Iowa. He also received an offer from Western Illinois University.

He announced his commitment on twitter and said, “First, I would like to thank God for blessing me with the opportunities and abilities that he has given me. Next, I would like to thank my family for being very supportive of me through this whole process and my parents for spending countless of hours helping me practice."

Blom shared his gratitude to his coaches.

"I would also like to thank all of my coaches, especially Coach Jenkins for everything they have done for me the last three years of high school. Also, I'd like to thank Coach Woods and the rest of the coaching staff for believing in me and giving me this opportunity. Finally, I am extremely excited to say that I have committed to The University of Iowa! Go Hawks!”

Blom has one more season with the Indians, as the Indian's first game is August 30, home against the Pella Christian Eagles.
