Oskaloosa tabs Barker as new football coach

OSKALOOSA —

Pending board approval, Oskaloosa Community School District is announcing the hiring of its new head football coach and Physical Education instructor, Jeff Barker.  
Barker is a graduate of Marion High School where he was an all-conference and All-Metro selection at running back and linebacker. Barker received his BA from Iowa State and his MA from Drake University.
Barker’s coaching experiences are 4 years as assistant coach at North Scott High School (4A Mississippi Athletic Conference), 6 years as head coach at NW Webster High School in Manson, and 9 years as defensive coordinator at Winterset High School.
Barker is married to Angela and has a son, Jack and daughter, Danny.
Barker replaces Mark Schilb, who compiled a 10-10 record in two seasons at Oskaloosa.
