Indians to make first state tournament appearance

OSKALOOSA —

Third time's a charm for the Oskaloosa softball team.
For the first time in school history, the Indians will be playing in the state softball tournament.
The Indians (29-9-1) got one-hit pitching from Alexis Groet and key two-out RBI hits from Bridgette Richards, Kelsie Tomlin and Kailyn Risher for a 6-0 win over Fairfield in a Class 4A regional final Tuesday night.
Oskaloosa will be pl;aging in the first round of the state tournament Monday at Harland Rogers Park in Fort Dodge against an opponent to be determined.
