Osky's Richardson wins state 400 hurdle title

NM's Brown ties for second in 1A high jump


Oskaloosa's Taylor Richardson ran to the state title in the Class 3A 400-meter hurdles Friday at the state track meet.

richardson recorded the winning time in 1-minute, 4.79 seconds while North Mahaska's Lorraine Brown recorded a tie for second in the Class 1A high jump after clearing 5-feet, 2-inches.

The rest of the finals will be Saturday.

Here's how The Herald area track athletes fared Friday at the state track meet
Class 3A
400 Hurdles, Spencer Medlin finished ninth in the time of 54.60; Dalton Bunnell finished 19th in the the of 57.84       
110 Hurdles, Austin Reed finished 22nd in the time of 15.97
Class 2A
Discus, Lewie Winkleman finished 16th with a throw of 134-5
Class 3A
Distance medley, Emily Allee, Leah VanMaanen, Brey Hill, Tori Palmer finished ninth in the time of 4:19.50
400 hurdles, Taylor Richardson wins state title in the time of 1:04.79; Alexis Westercamp finished 18th in the time of 1:11.10
Long Jump, Taylor Richardson finished eighth with a leap of 16-3.75
100 Hurdles, Kenzie Gunter finished 15th in the time of 16.18
4x100, Taylor Richardson, Kenzie Gunter, Brey Hill, Asia Laudermilch finished ninth in the time of 50.67
Class 2A
400 Hurdles, Tasha Alexander finished fifth in the time of 1:07.37
High Jump, Tasha Alexander finished 19th, cleared 4-10
Class 1A
North Mahaska
High Jump, Lorraine Brown finished tied for second, cleared 5-2
100 hurdles, Lorraine Brown finished 10th in the time of 16.26
