Rockets earn split of SCC doubleheader with Big Reds

EDDYVILLE —

Centerville and Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont played a pair of games Wednesday and both games couldn't have been more different.
Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont had problems getting much offense going in a 6-0 loss in the opener. The Rockets were held to three hits and gave up four runs in the top of the seventh inning.
The nightcap was much different as the Rockets struck for 11 runs on nine hits in an easy 11-1 win in six innings.
Christian Bambrook was the hitting star in the second game by going 3-for-4 with a double. He also drove in four runs and scored twice. Winning pitcher Trevor Swartz aided his own cause with a pair of singles and two runs batted in.
