Big sixth inning propels EBF past Chariton

No. 12 Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont used a six-run sixth inning to break open a South Central Conference softball contest en route to an 11-2 victory over Chariton. 
Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont was leading 5-2 when it erupted for six runs in the bottom of the crucial inning. 
The Rockets collected five hits in the inning, including four in a row with one being a double by Sadie Baugher. Makenzie Jensen capped off the inning with a two-run single.
Chariton scrapped their way to seven hits in the contest, but only one for extra bases. Senior Kylie Bengtson rapped a double. Bengtson and Kourtney Nichols each had two hits to lead Chariton.
Sophomore Ellie Bengtson took the loss. She gave up 11 runs, six of them earned, on 12 Rocket hits. She walked three batters and struck out three.
