Lacey Stadium undergoing renovations

The Oskaloosa Herald

OSKALOOSA —

Visiting fans will have better seating accommodations beginning this season at Lacey Stadium.
Workers are wrapping up renovation at the stadium of new bleachers for the visitors among others.
William Penn Activities Director Greg Hafner added work is also being done on the locker rooms.
"They're getting ready to put fencing around the new grass soccer field on the west side of the stadium," Hafner said. "We won't be using that field yet, but we hope to use it next year. That just will provide a really good venue for tournaments and things like that when we have multiple fields."
It's part of the continuing project to the stadium as the new track surface was installed prior to the spring.
"They've been really busy out there this summer," Hafner said. "They're talking about completing the press box, upgrade the scoreboard and at some point do something with the parking lot as far as asphalt or concrete or something.
"What we've trying to do is do a little bit every year as we can afford to do it."
WIlliam Penn, Oskaloosa High School and Middle School hosted track meets and Hafner said the university, which hosts the Midwest Collegiate Conference meet this year, will host the conference meet again in 2014.
"The track has been a huge addition to the complex," Hafner said.
