Mixers wrap up successful season on diamond

The Oskaloosa Herald

OSKALOOSA —

The Advance Concrete Mixers completed a very successful season, going 12-1 in the Rookie League.
“My coaches were a huge part of the success of our season, Coach Brandon Blommers said of his assistants. “They were very supportive of the girls and were there to help me in any way they could. They were truly there to help our girls improve their skills and have fun. This embodies what the rookies division should be all about.
We had an awesome group of girls who listened, learned and hustled every practice and every game. We had girls from ages 6-9 on our team and every one of them made huge improvements from the beginning of the season. Their enthusiasm, attitude and softball spirit was infectious and spread from our coaches to our spectators. We all had a blast this year.”
Blommers said anyone who watched this team got to see just how much fun girls softball can be
“I had one parent thank us, ‘for putting the fun back in softball’,” Blommers said.  “We scored 127 runs and only allowed 56. It is a group of girls and a season I will never forget.”
