Indian swimmers compete at district meet

RUNNELLS —

Oskaloosa took part in its first district swimming meet Saturday.
The Indians finished eighth with 32 points as West Des Moines Valley, which racked up 262 points. Ankeny was just a point behind for second.
The top finish for the Indians came from the 200-yard medley relay quartet of John Hammes, Sandra Blom, Connor Swim and David Anderson as they swam 2:07.29 to come in sixth in the event.
The 200-yard freestyle relay foursome of Anderson, Swim, Jackie Reif and Kaity Richmond placed seventh in the time of 1:48.26.
The top individual finisher was Anderson, who came in 17th in the 50-yard freestyle in the time of 25.38.
