NM boys use free throws to edge HLV

North Mahaska used the charity stripe to its advantage to gain a key South Iowa Cedar League boys game Tuesday. 
The Warhawks shot 13-for-20 from the line en route to a 47-42 victory at HLV.
North Mahaska shot twice as many free throws as the home team, but strong shooting by HLV junior Tanner Strudthoff, who finished with 18 points kept the game close. 
North Mahaska’s A. J. Hibler matched Strudthoff from the three-point line with three.
North Mahaska (3-2) outscored HLV quarter by only one or two points, but it was enough to secure the victory. 
The Warhawks once again layers in double figures and one with nine. Senior Connor Hehli managed a double-double with 10 points and 15 rebounds. He also recorded three blocked shots. Trent Roose led the Warhawks with 13 points and Trent Wanders added 11.
HLV’s Jay Wright was also figures with 10 points. Dakota Stults had nine points and Rhett Nowotny added five.
North Mahaska will host Lynnville-Sully Friday.
