VIDEO: Tony Stewart crashes at Oskaloosa race

Oskaloosa Herald

OSKALOOSA — NASCAR's Tony Stewart, a three-time champion at the sport's highest level, broke his leg in a crash Monday at the Southern Iowa Speedway in Oskaloosa.

Fans at the race said the crash happened while Stewart was in the lead and came up on a lapped car. That car spun, causing Stewart and two others to crash.

Eric Fox was at the race and said that crash left Stewart in a bad spot.

"Tony had no where to go and hit him, then the other top three drivers hit each other, lots of carnage," he said.

Fox and Mike Mahaffey, another fan at the race, agreed that the initial crash landed right in front of Stewart's car.

Here's video from the race, including the crash and its aftermath.
