Osky boys collect Eddybylooska Trophy Tuesday

Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont had no answer to the height of the Oskaloosa basketball team Tuesday night.
The tallest player in the starting lineup for the Rockets was 6-foot-3 Jevin Jensen while the Indians counter with 6-5 Ryan Reiter and Dalton Bunnell.
Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont did keep pace with Oskaloosa on the backboards, but the Indians had numerous baskets from very close to the basket as they took the Eddybylooska Traveling Turtle Trophy 69-56.
"You look at the shot chart and you just see all of their shots were from point-blank range," Rockets coach Travis Stout said. "A lot of those we bought on ourselves because we didn't do a good job of boxing them out.
"We did not do a good job of keeping them off the glass for second-chance points."
It was the first win in five games for the Indians.
Reiter burned the Rockets for a game-high 30 points and pulled down 18 rebounds as Bunnell had two points that came in the first quarter.
"We needed a win just for our spirits going into the Christmas break," Oskaloosa coach Zach Tremmel said. "We knew we had the size on them. We got the ball where it needed to go."
Jensen provided the offensive spark for the Rockets in the first quarter as he scored the first four points of the period. He then added a 3-pointer with 1:24 left for a 19-10 lead and scored on a driving layup late in the quarter for a 21-15 advantage at the quarter break.
Jensen, who finished with a team-high 23 points, added three consecutive baskets for a 28-23 edge.
Reiter got Oskaloosa back in the game on two straight offensive rebound buckets to trim the deficit to one. He added a conventional three-point play to tie the game at 32 with 1:42 left in the half and another offensive putback gave Oskaloosa its first lead since early in the game at 34-33 with 1:06 left.
