Q. I hear that dual computer monitors can increase productivity. I’m starting school again and can use all the help I can get. Are dual monitors hard to set up?
A. Running dual monitors used to be tricky. Now it’s incredibly easy. Almost all recent video cards come with two monitor ports. Some can even handle three to six monitors. Just plug the monitors in and go. Unfortunately, that won’t work on a laptop. Or maybe you don’t want to install a new video card. In that case, look at a product like Matrox’s DualHead2Go (starting around $200). It lets you split one video port into two. You don’t have to open up your computer. Just don’t expect to do any serious gaming with it.
Q. I just got laid-off from my job after 15 years. And I’m trying to find a new job online. But I’m not exactly sure what I’m doing. Do you have any tips to help?
A. The Internet provides many opportunities for finding a new job. Unfortunately, there are also many fake and scam job listings. Weeding out the bad stuff can be difficult. You will definitely want to go with specialized sites. These will help you find legitimate jobs in your area of expertise.
