Question of the Week: Was this year's Southern Iowa Fair better than last year's?

By DUANE NOLLEN
The Oskaloosa Herald

OSKALOOSA

A slim plurality of the people who answered this past week’s Question of the Week: Should the Packers let Brett Favre go? answered YES.

Thirteen — 38.24 percent — said YES, while nine — 26.47 percent — answered NO, and 12 — 35.29 percent — voted DON’T CARE.

The Question of the Week poll is not scientific and only reflects the opinions of those Internet users who have chosen to participate. The Question of the Week is just another way the Herald’s readers can voice their opinions about issues that affect them.

This week’s question deals with the Southern Iowa Fair.

The Southern Iowa Fair this year is winding down today after another week of summer time fun.

This year’s fair included some new things such as the Hairball show Tuesday night that filled the air with ‘80s heavy metal. The Doggies of the Wild West displayed the gymnastic abilities of some talented dogs. Guys got to put their raw muscle power to the test Saturday with an arm wrestling competition and Daryl Singletary performed his country hits in concert.

How does that compare to last year’s fair?

The 2007 fair featured events such as a tractor pull, a petting zoo and the Trick Pony show.

Was this year’s fair more enjoyable than last years?

What do you think?

This week’s Question of the Week: Was this year’s Southern Iowa Fair better than last year’s? YES or NO.

People can vote on The Herald’s Web site, oskaloosa.com, from Monday through noon on Friday. Then, votes will be tallied and published the following Monday.
