WASHINGTON, Ind. —
Helen R. Bennett, 66, of Washington, Ind., and formerly of Cedar, died Sunday, Nov. 25, 2012, at her home in Washington.
She was born Sept. 24, 1946, in Galena, Ill., the daughter of Franklin and Maydel Windmaker Robertson. She graduated from Aurora West High. On Oct. 18, 1967, she was united in marriage to James Bennett at North Aurora, Ill. They lived in the Cedar area for 40 years. Helen worked at Pella Corp and Home Health Care until 2007 when they moved to Washington, Ind., to be closer to their grandchildren. Helen enjoyed fishing and professional wrestling.
Her family includes her husband: Jim Bennett, of Washington, Ind.; 2 sons: Bruce (and Megan) Bennett, of North Dakota, and James Bennett, of Iowa; a daughter: Doreen (and Chad) Fitzgerald, of Washington, Ind.; five grandchildren: Tisha (and Eric) Dillman, Kimberly (and Brandon) Hols, Jamerson Hols, Jacob Hols, and Kaeleigh Fitzgerald; five siblings: Maryann, Terry, David, Frankie, and Cindy; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother: Teddy Robertson; and a daughter-in–law: Michelle Bennett.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Nov. 30, at 1 p.m. in the Fremont Funeral Chapel with Roger Pratt officiating. Visitation will begin Thursday after 2 p.m. in the Fremont Funeral Chapel and the family will be present at the funeral chapel from 5 to 7 p.m. to greet friends and relatives.
