LOIS MORGAN

KNOXVILLE —

Lois Estella Morgan was born on Oct. 6, 1938 in Marion County, the daughter of Oliver Worth and Helen Mae (Miller) Harvey. She graduated from Tracy High School in 1956. She was united in marriage to Jerry Dean Morgan on Oct. 13, 1957. She and Jerry lived in many states across the nation and abroad during Jerry’s military career in the Air Force. After retiring from the military, the couple settled in Knoxville. Lois enjoyed her role as homemaker, and also worked at Collins Hospital for a time.

Lois was a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and Preceptor Mu, and volunteered many hours in concessions at sporting events through the sorority to help create scholarships for students. She also volunteered at the hospital gift shop. She loved spending time with her own family and friends, and also enjoyed attending the activities of other kids. She liked bowling, reading, playing cards and working crossword puzzles. She was one of the biggest Hawkeye fans. Lois was also famous for making cinnamon rolls.

Lois passed away Friday, Nov. 8, 2013, at her home at the age of 75 years. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jerry in 1991; son, Daniel in 2005; brother, Larry Harvey; brother-in-law, Larry Morgan; and sister-in-law, Kathy Harvey.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, David (Lori) Morgan, of Knoxville, and Kimberly Morgan, of Iowa City; brothers, Lyle Harvey, of Knoxville, and Dan (Connie) Harvey, of Urbandale; sisters, Louise (Bill) Cooprider, of Diamond City, Ark., and Linda (Steve) Fox, of Rose Hill; sister-in-law, Sandra Harvey; and grandchildren, Samantha and Rachel Morgan.

A Memorial Service will be held at Williams Funeral Home in Knoxville on Saturday, Nov. 16, at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. Jeff Flagg officiating. The family will greet friends beginning at 9 a.m. prior to the service.
