Ava Ritenour, 17 month old daughter of Alicia Ritenour of Oskaloosa, died Friday, Jan. 24, 2014, at her home in Oskaloosa.
She was an energetic beautiful and intelligent baby girl. She would smile and dance to any song that she heard.
Her family includes her mother: Alicia Marie Ritenour; maternal grandparents, Tina and Bryan Ritenour, of Oskaloosa; aunts and uncles, Derrick Ritenour, of Oskaloosa, Brent (and Amanda) Ritenour, of Oskaloosa, Kodie Ritenour, of New Sharon, and Catrina (and Charlie) Shilling, of What Cheer; her cousins, Aiden Ritenour, Hattie Ann Shilling and Bryer Shilling; maternal great-grandparents, Donnie Teffeau of Delaware and Sally and Louie Schmitz of Millersville, Md.; great aunts and uncles, Chadd (and Amy) Teffeau, Julie (and Dean) Breasure, Laura Adkins, Dawn Maxwell, Keith Ritenour and Vicky Wisner.
She was preceded in death by her maternal great-grandfathers, Charles Teffeau and Rick Ritenour; and two cousins, Samantha Marie Steinhart and Kaylee Sue Ann Bishop.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Jan. 30, at 10:30 a.m. in the Bates Funeral Chapel in Oskaloosa with the Rev. Bruce Thompson officiating. Burial will be in the St. Mary’s Cemetery in Oskaloosa. Visitation will begin Thursday after 9:30 a.m. in the Bates Funeral Chapel and the family will be present at the funeral chapel from 9:30 a.m. until service time to greet friends and relatives. Memorials may be made to the family of Ava Ritenour.
