DEC. 10, 1938 — DEC. 15, 2012

LYONS, Colo. — Jane E. Williams, age 74, of Lyons, died Dec. 15, 2012, in Longmont.

Jane was born Dec. 10, 1938, in Oskaloosa, to Waldo and Helen (Darner) Estes. She spent her school years growing up in Fremont. She graduated from Fremont High School. Her life-long love of sports began in school, where she was a 5-year varsity basketball starter.

Jane married Thomas “X” Williams on June 21, 1957, in Fremont. To this union, five children were born. The third child was a girl, Michelle, who died at birth. Jane and Tom moved to Colorado in 1966 and eventually settled in Lyons, Colo., in 1977.

Jane was a homemaker who loved to play softball, golf and bowl. She was especially fond of the Longmont Lanes Java Jets bowling league.  Throughout her bowling years, Jane donated countless hours of her time performing league secretary duties for several bowling leagues.  Maintaining a picturesque lawn was always important to her, as well as having a productive vegetable garden. During the NFL football season, her Sundays were reserved for Church and watching the Denver Broncos play.  She also enjoyed the Rockies, Avs, Nuggets and CU Buffs. Jane was a member of LifeBridge Christian Church.

Several years after the passing of her husband, Jane began traveling with a close friend, Dwight Kinard. Among their many travels, she especially enjoyed attending family reunions and vacationing in Branson, Mo., as well as various towns in Arizona.

Survivors include two sons, Brett (Sam) Williams, of Loveland, Colo., and Jeff (Rita) Williams, of Mead, Colo.; two daughters, Renee Rio, of Longmont, Colo., and Sherrie (Pete) Emerson, of Crawford, Neb. Also surviving are three brothers, Jim Estes of Urbana, Dennis Estes, of Frankford, Mo., David Estes, of Waldorf, Mo., and one sister Janice Firth, of Taylor Ridge, Il, and 16 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

Jane was proceeded in death by her husband, infant daughter Michelle, parents, and three brothers; Johnny, Jerry and Justin Estes.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 4, at LifeBridge Christian Church with Senior Minister Rick Rusaw officiating. Interment will follow at Foothills Gardens of Memory. Memorial gifts may be made in Jane’s name in care of Howe Mortuary, 439 Coffman Street, Longmont, CO  80501.
