Barbara A. (Coffin) Sjoblom, the daughter of Martin and Martha (Eckert) Coffin was born Aug. 4, 1940, in Knox, Ind. Barbara joined our Heavenly Father on Tuesday, April 2, 2013, at her home in Armstrong, at the age of 72.
Barbara has a sister Donna and a brother, Denny. She graduated on May 4, 1958, from Reynolds High School.
On July 9, 1960, Barbara was united in marriage to Michael Rhodes Sjoblom. They spent two years stationed on the Marine Corps Base at Cherry Point, N.C. After Michael completed his four years, they moved to Reynolds, Ind. In 1964, they moved to the Armstrong area. Barbara was a homemaker, a wife, a mother and a grandmother.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Armstrong. She also had 45 years in the S.O. Club of Armstrong.
Left to cherish Barbara’s memory are her husband, Michael of Armstrong; children, Michael (Sharon) Sjoblom; Martha (Dennis) Olson; Mary (Rick) Hersom; Margaret (Todd) Gochanour; grandchildren, Elizabeth (Ethan) Olson-Spronk; Eric and Erin Olson; Michaela, Mallory, Mariah Gochanour and Andrew Hersom; sister, Donna Adams and brother Dennis Coffin.
Preceding Barbara in death are her parents and one nephew, Karl Pierson.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 6, at the United Methodist Church in Armstrong with Pastor Scott Hibben and Pastor Lyndon Roesler officiating. Interment will be in Armstrong Grove Cemetery, Armstrong.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m., Friday at Henry-Olson Funeral Chapel, Armstrong.
