Connie Spratt, 67, of Oskaloosa, passed away Friday afternoon, June 28, 2013, at the MHP Hospice Services Serenity House in Oskaloosa.
Connie Sue Spratt, daughter of Thomas and Anna Holliday Spratt, was born April 21, 1946, in Oskaloosa. Connie attended Oskaloosa schools. Following the death of her parent’s, Connie lived with her sisters, Emma and Sandra. She worked as a dishwasher at Wes’s Café and Wm. Penn College and later in housekeeping at Mahaska Hospital. Connie was able to move into a residential home with Imagine the Possibilities in April 2011, a move she very much enjoyed. She was a WWF wrestling fan, an avid reader and she also enjoyed word search puzzles and painting by number. Connie was a very cheerful and happy person and a friend to everyone she met.
Connie’s family includes a brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Marcella Spratt, of Oskaloosa; and two sisters and brothers-in-law: Sandra and Frank Nienkerk, of New Sharon, and Georgia and Bill Schroer, of Saratoga, Wyo., and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Connie was preceded in death by a brother, Tom Spratt and a sister, Emma Lou Daniels.
Funeral Services for Connie will be held at 1 p.m., Monday, July 1, at Garland-Van Arkel-Langkamp Funeral Chapel with Jeff Morris of Imagine the Possibilities officiating. Burial will be in Forest Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2-4 p.m., Sunday and resume at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral chapel; the family will greet visitors from noon until service time on Monday. Memorials may be made to Imagine the Possibilities or MHP Hospice Serenity House.
