Carol Snowbarger, age 57, of Oskaloosa, passed away Friday morning, July 19, 2013, at the MHP Hospice Services Serenity House in Oskaloosa.
Carol Sue Snowbarger was born, October 2, 1955, in Oskaloosa to Clyde and Fairy Padgett Patterson. She was a 1973 graduate of Oskaloosa High School and a 1977 graduate of William Penn University. She married Ron L. Snowbarger, August 20, 1977, in Oskaloosa. Carol first taught drivers education and later P.E. at Oskaloosa high school and the grade schools. In addition to her teaching responsibilities, she coached swimming and volleyball. Carol also led an aerobics class at the Y Community Center for several years. After her teaching career she joined her husband at Oskaloosa Manufacturing.
She is survived by her husband, Ron Snowbarger of Oskaloosa; three daughters and their spouses: Jennifer and Michael Comfort of Oskaloosa, Elizabeth and Cory McBurney of Cedar and Jessica and Brandon Graham of Oskaloosa; three grandchildren: Kate and Natalie McBurney and Ryan Comfort; her mother, Fairy Patterson of Oskaloosa; and a sister Patty (Keith) Groenenboom of Eddyville.
She is preceded in death by her father.
As was her wish, her body has been cremated and no visitation or funeral services will be held. Garland-Van Arkel-Langkamp Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
