GREAT FALLS, Mont. — Robert William Reiley, 71, of Great Falls, died of natural causes Friday, Feb. 1, 2013.
A memorial service and burial with military honors will be held at Fort Harrison in Helena, Mont., on Monday, June 17, at 2 p.m.
Robert was born Dec. 2, 1941, in Lincoln, Neb., to Robert and Ruth Reiley. He married Susan Gray Reiley on June 11, 1966, and she survives him
He was raised in Oskaloosa, where he lived until attending Wentworth Military Academy in Lexington, Mo., during high school. He remained at Wentworth through his second year of college. Robert completed his college education at Drake University in Des Moines, where he was in the Air Force ROTC. Upon graduation, Robert was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the USAF. He served during the Vietnam War. He retired as a USAF Captain Sept. 30, 1991. His last duty station was in Great Falls, Mont., where he and his wife, Susan made their home.
Robert and his wife enjoyed traveling and playing bridge. They attended bridge tournaments around the United States. Bob became a Life Master. He also had a love of learning and was awarded various advance degrees during his military career and after his retirement.
Robert is survived by his daughter, Kelly, and son-in-law John Kelvie, of Boise, Idaho; sisters Christine Reiley and her husband Leroy Sterkel, of Colvis, Calif., Ellen Reily, of Santee, Calif., and Kathy Reiley and her husband, Tom Frost, of Madison, Wis.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Ruth Reiley.
