---- — CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. — Melba M. Job, 91, of Cape Girardeau, died on Wednesday, April 9, 2014, at Auburn Creek Assisted Living Facility in Cape Girardeau.

She was born on Oct. 15, 1922, in Diehlstadt, Mo., to Clarence and Helen Gist Moore. She married Paul job on June 14, 1941. He preceded her in death on May 2, 2002.

Melba worked as a waitress at the Hotel Marquette and the Purple Crackle before retiring in 1965. She was a member of St. Mary Cathedral parish in Cape Girardeau, where she was an avid member of their quilting group. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, gardening and bingo.

She is survived by three children: Paula Myers (Frank) of Cape Girardeau, Stephen Job (Mari), of Oskaloosa, and Lisa Rouse (Mike), of Jackson; six grandchildren: Jon Gurley (Julie), Jeff Gurley, Tina Meyr (Gary), Cody Rouse (Rachel), Clay Rouse and Tracey Garza (Javier) and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, one son, Lawrence “Larry” Job, and one sister.

Friends and family may gather Saturday, April 12, from 9 a.m. until the time of service at Crain Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau. Prayer services for Melba Job will be held at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home with Father Tom Keifer as celebrant.
