ANGELA HILLEBRAND

MAY 7, 1967 — FEB. 2, 2013

EDDYVILLE — Angela D. (Glenn) Hillebrand died on Feb. 2, 2013, and began her journey in Paradise.

Her fight with breast cancer was long and hard fought. Angie was born May 7, 1967, in Des Moines. The daughter of Ule (Mark Hull) Glenn, of Ottumwa, and Bill (Diane) Glenn, of Oskaloosa. She married Paul Hillebrand on Valentine’s Day 1998.  Angela and Paul were members of St. Rita’s Catholic Church. Angie graduated from Eddyville Community High School and the Iowa School of Beauty in Ottumwa.

She was an administrative assistant working at BE Aerospace and B&T of West Palm Beach where she also filled in as Sous Chef, Angie loved people and she loved serving others.

Angela was raised in Iowa but her heart belonged to Florida, she was resident of West Palm Beach for 18 years. Angie loved the ocean and was a huge fishing and snorkeling fan. She and her husband Paul spent most of their free time on the water and in their boat, and twice yearly they spent in the Keys. Anything blue and ocean she loved.

Angie was a huge supporter and volunteer of Susan G. Komen, Race for the Cure, and last year was voted to be the team leader of her group. Pink became her second favorite color.

Angie was an animal lover but she really loved cats and kittens, and had several (at least one that she got at the animal rescue in Florida). She considered them her children and she loved them very much.

Angie is survived by her husband; parents; her sisters, Shawna (Michael) Burns of Texas and Shila (Zane) Maschmann, of Montezuma; her nephews, Paden and Kendig Maschmann; her niece, Skye Lee Burns of Texas; her Grandmother Edith Glenn; her Aunts Judy (Charlie) Harder and Carla (Tony) LeMar; a stepsister Taylor Hull; stepbrother Coldt (Annie) Schmidt; and numerous cousins.

She was preceded in death by her beloved grandmother Ilse Renz Griffith; her grandfathers Arno Renz and Earl Glenn; and stepbrother Dustin Schmidt.

A celebration of life service will be at the Fremont Community Center, 107 E. Main,  Fremont, on Feb. 16, at 2 p.m. where the family will receive friends. The family requests no flowers. A memorial fund has been established to the Heartland Humane Society.  P.O. Box 1149, Ottumwa Iowa.
