OSKALOOSA — Wilma Stam, 88, of Oskaloosa, passed away Sunday morning, Dec. 29, 2013, at the home of her son in rural Oskaloosa.

Wilma Irene Stam was born, March 22, 1925, at the home of her parents in Lake Prairie Township, south of Pella, to John and Susan “Susie” (Menninga) Kelderman. As a young woman, she was employed at Pella Corp., Continental Overall Factory, and Shurts Jack Sprat Grocery Store. Wilma made her Profession of Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and on Jan. 18, 1946, she was united in marriage to Albert “Hap” Stam at the in the First Christian Reformed Church in Oskaloosa. In addition to her duties at home and her volunteer work, Wilma also found time for Bible Study and genealogy research. In 1976, Wilma and Hap retired from farming and moved into Oskaloosa; during this time they enjoyed traveling to various places throughout the U.S. They were blessed with 59 years of marriage before Albert was called home, May 25, 2005.
