The Oskaloosa Montage tells the story of Oskaloosa from the late 1800s to the 1980s and it is on display once again at its home in Penn Central Mall.
The Montage was unveiled Saturday morning in a ceremony that drew a large crowd.
Local artists Tom Stone and Marv Smith created the Montage in 1985. It is a collection of photographs and artifacts that tell the history of Oskaloosa. Emily and the late Chuck Russell donated many artifacts and pictures for the Montage.
After a year in the making, the Montage was unveiled in the mall in 1986. The Montage was removed in 1998, when the mall was not locally owned and a merchant wanted the space for a store display.
The Montage went into storage, and when Musco Lighting bought the mall in 2010, restoring the Montage was a priority.
Here are some photos of the Montage. For the full story and more images of the Montage, look to Monday's edition of the Oskaloosa Herald.
