Board approves pay, benefit raises

OSKALOOSA — The Oskaloosa School Board approved salary and benefit packages for school officials and staff Tuesday night.

The School Board approved a 3.75 percent increase for certified staff and non-members of the Oskaloosa Support Staff. The School Board also approved a 3.645 percent increase for administrators and directors. Substitute teachers also got a $5 raise from $100 per day to $105. The School Board approved a 3.1 percent increase in Superintendent Russ Reiter’s contract.

However, the School Board tabled the 2013-15 OSSA Master Agreement until a meeting to be determined later this month.

In other action, the School Board accepted the resignation of Elementary Principal Tim Millage. In his place, the School Board approved the appointment of Mike Dursky to fill Millage’s post. The board also approved the hiring of Mark Scholes from the Albia school district to fill Dursky’s position. The School Board also approved the appointment of the following teachers: Mariann Raum as middle school TAG and interventionist instructor, Autumn Reisetter as high school special education, Elizabeth Roe as a fourth-grade teacher, Sara Zimmerman as a first-grade teacher, Melissa Letzring as a fourth-grade teacher and Katie Carper as a fifth-grade teacher.
