Kevin Wright has been Hy-Vee store director for one week.
Wright, 33, started as the Oskaloosa Hy-Vee store director on Thursday, Sept. 19.
“I was the manager of perishables in Urbandale,” Wright said of his job prior to coming to Oskaloosa. “I was there for almost a year.”
Wright has worked for Hy-Vee since August 2000.
“This is my seventh store in three states,” he said. Wright has worked for Hy-Vee in Iowa, Illinois and Missouri. Wright said his hometown is Farmington, Ill.
Wright said the best part of his job is meeting people.
Although Wright has been in Oskaloosa for only a week, he has some big plans for the store.
“We’ve lowered a large amount of prices,” he said. The staff also is cleaning the store, he added.
During the next year, Wright said he wants to make improvements to the structure of the store and the equipment to make the store “more shoppable.”
Wright is married and his wife’s name is Rachel. He is a member of the Oskaloosa Chamber board.
When he is not in the office, Wright said he likes to run and be outdoors.
“I like to travel,” he added.
