The Oskaloosa Herald

OSKALOOSA — The Mahaska County Board of Supervisors received one bid for a channel repair project during its meeting Monday.

McCulley Construction was the only contractor to submit a bid; the bid was $10,360. The Natural Resources Conservation Service estimate for the project, located near Beacon, was $14,530.

The supervisors also discussed the republication of county ordinances.

Supervisor Mike VanderMolen said the state requires counties to update and republish county ordinances every five years. County Attorney Charles Stream said he and his staff will begin a review of county ordinances.

In other action, the supervisors discussed Web hosting — whether to do it in-house or have an outside contractor do it. The supervisors also discussed phone service for the Department of Human Services.
