2013 summer gardening webinars offered at ISU Extension

The Oskaloosa Herald

OSKALOOSA — The Iowa State University Extension Master Gardeners have hosted webinars during the summer for the past three years.

Because our weather patterns have rapidly moved from drought to flood, the theme for this year’s webinars is “Moisture Extremes in the Landscape.”

Sessions will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Dates, presenters, and topics are:

July 23 - Richard Jauron - “Landscape Plants for Moisture Extremes” Denny Schrock - “Waterwise Landscaping”

August 13 - Jeff Iles - “Diagnosing Drought Damage, Flood Damage, and Other Abiotic Stress Injury on Landscape Trees & Shrubs.”

The Mahaska County Extension Office, 212 North I Street, will host the webinars. People do not need to be a Master Gardener to attend. Cost to attend will be $5 a person. A minimum of five attendees are needed to host the webinar.

Contact Suzette Striegel, Mahaska County Extension Horticulturist by phone at (641) 673-5841 or e-mail at striegel@iastate.edu the Friday before the webinar to RSVP.
