Iowa Highway 92 completely open east and west

AMES — Flooding continues to affect many roadways in the state, according to Iowa Department of Transportation officials. However, Highway 92 is now open again both east and west of Oskaloosa.

DOT officials said as of 9:45 a.m. Saturday, Iowa 92 in Marion and Mahaska counties have both lanes open.

Iowans are urged to closely monitor conditions and never enter a water-covered roadway.

The Iowa DOT’s temporary customer service phone line has been discontinued due to the opening of the major highway arteries through the state. Information about road closures due to flooding will continue to be available on the DOT’s Web site at www.iowadot.gov. Click on the “Alert Flooded Roadways” icon.

Many of the closures on this list will remain in place for an extended period of time due to extensive damage. It is extremely important that motorists do not move barricades on closed roads, as entering a closed road presents a serious risk.
