Web site, social media important for Osky RABGRAI stop

OSKALOOSA —

These are a few important ways people will be able to stay informed about the July 25 RAGBRAI stop in Oskaloosa.

Jake Barnes, a member of the Web & Social Media Committee associated with the RAGBRAI stop in Oskaloosa, noted that the goal of the committee is to get information from other RAGBRAI stop committees out there for the public. This is done through www.oskyragbrai.com, as well as the Facebook and Twitter accounts associated with the Web site.

Through these outlets, people can learn about a wide variety of aspects of the RAGBRAI stop in Oskaloosa. Barnes noted things like food vender and housing information can be found on the Web site.

The Oskaloosa RAGBRAI stop's Web site has gotten a lot of Web traffic, according to Barnes. As July 25 approaches, more people have posted questions on the Web site regarding aspects of the RAGBRAI stop in Oskaloosa. As of Wednesday afternoon, the Oskaloosa RAGBRAI 2013 Facebook page had more than 560 “likes.”

RAGBRAI is a seven-day bicycle ride across Iowa that occurs annually. It is the oldest, largest and longest recreational bicycling touring even in the world. On Thursday, July 25, 2013, Oskaloosa will host RAGBRAI cyclists as an overnight stop during their trek across the state.
