NEWTON — Charlie Hunnam, popular star of the hit FX Network motorcycle drama “Sons of Anarchy,” will appear in two private “Meet & Greets” and a special public “Meet & Greet” session on Saturday, June 1, during the second annual Iowa Grand Motorcycle Rally at Iowa Speedway in Newton.
The public “Meet & Greet” with Hunnam, whose character “Jax” is a hero to the thousands of devoted “Sons of Anarchy” fans, is scheduled from 4 to 6 p.m. in the track’s Newton Club. Admission is included with the purchase of a Saturday, June 1, Iowa Grand Rally ticket, but will be limited to the first 150 people requesting a special wristband on that day, available on a first-come, first-served basis. While there is no additional fee for the “Meet & Greet,” Hunnam will charge $5 per autograph.
Hunnam will also participate in two private “Meet & Greet” sessions in one of the track’s VIP Suites, at noon and 2 p.m. on June 1, which will be limited to the first 60 people to sign up for each one-hour session. The cost for a private session is $115 per person, which includes gate admission for the Saturday rally, light hors d’oeuvres and exclusive access to Hunnam for photos and autographs, plus a special 8x10 photo of Hunnam.
The Noon private “Meet & Greet” session with Hunnam will go on sale Monday, May 6, at 10 a.m.:, while the 2 p.m. “Meet & Greet” will be available for sale on Monday, May 13, also at 10 a.m. Both sessions are only available online atwww.iowaspeedway.com.

The Iowa Grand Motorcycle Rally, slated for Thursday, May 30, through Sunday, June 2, is the first major event on Iowa Speedway’s busy 2013 schedule. In addition to Hunnam’s appearances, the rally’s entertainment line-up will include live music acts, numerous food, beverage and merchandise vendors, bike displays, tattoos, burn-out and talent contests, motorcycle drag racing, lawnmower racing, body painting and the ever-popular “Wall of Death” motorcycle daredevil show.
Individual ticket prices for the 2013 Iowa Grand Motorcycle Rally are $20 for Friday, May 31 ($25 with a rider), and $25 for Saturday, June 1 ($30 with a rider). Two-day tickets are available for $40, or $50 with a rider, while the Thursday and Sunday activities are free and do not require a ticket.
Tent camping is free in designated areas, while RV’s are $50 per site with no utility hook-ups, and $150 with water/electric included, for the four days. Vendor spaces are still available, starting at $200 for a 10’x10’ area, as well as many advertising and sponsorship opportunities for businesses catering to the motorcycle marketplace.

Season Tickets and weekend passes are also available for Iowa Speedway’s 2013 racing season, which begins on June 7 – 8 with the first of two NASCAR Nationwide Series events, the ‘DuPont Pioneer 250’. Other major events include the ‘Iowa Corn Indy 250’weekend on June 22-23, the second NASCAR Nationwide Series weekend, the ‘U.S. Cellular 250’, on Aug. 2-3, and the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series weekends, the ‘American Ethanol 200’ on July 12-13, and the ‘Prairie Meadows 150’ ARCA race and ‘Iowa 200’ NASCAR Truck clash on Sept. 7-8.
