People lined up at Central United Methodist Church Saturday morning to chow down on some pancakes while raising funds for the OHS dance team at the Kiwanis Pancake Day.
Saturday was the 60th annual Kiwanis Pancake Day, Kiwanis Club Secretary/Treasurer Crystal Van Donselaar said.
One hundred-fifty people came to the event in the first two hours, she said. It’s been a bigger crowd this year, she added.
“We’re helping the dance team with their fund-raiser and they helped us sell tickets,” Van Donselaar said.
The Oskaloosa High School Dance Team will perform at half time at the Cotton Bowl on Jan. 3, 2014.
More than 30 volunteers from the Oskaloosa Kiwanis Club; the Oskaloosa Builders Club, a Kiwanis club for youth; and the Knoxville Morning Kiwanis Club were on hand to serve the public from 7 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The Knoxville club brought their griddle for the event, Van Donselaar said. They serve all-you-can-eat pancakes, eggs, sausage, milk, juice or coffee, she added.
