Work continues along C Avenue Wednesday afternoon. According to an Aug. 7 post on the city of Oskaloosa’s Web site, www.oskaloosaiowa.org, “Beginning Monday, August 12, Hol Construction will be replacing approximately 400’ of sanitary sewer and 2 manholes on C Avenue East between North 4th and North 6th Streets. In addition 5 catch basins will be replaced at the following locations: 2 at C Avenue East & North 5th Street, 2 at C Avenue East & North Park, and 1 on the island on South Park. All projects should be completed within 2 weeks weather permitting. Traffic will be restricted to one lane during the project. In addition 1 sanitary manhole will be replaced in the 500 block of 9th Avenue East.”

Madrigal singers perform
The Oskaloosa High School Madrigal Singers perform for the Oskaloosa Rotary Club at the Peppertree at noon Tuesday. The Madrigal Singers will perform for the annual Madrigal Dinner on Dec. 13, 14 and 15 at the Musco Technology Center at William Penn University. Director Chris Weinreich said the Saturday, Dec. 14, performance is sold out; however, tickets for the other two nights are available. People can purchase tickets at Brown's Shoe Fit, on the city square. Tickets are $15, he said.
