Victims airlifted from Highway 92 accident Sunday afternoon

OSKALOOSA — Victims of a head-on, two-vehicle accident east of Oskaloosa on Highway 92 were airlifted Sunday afternoon.

About 3:15 p.m. Sunday, a head-on collision was reported on Highway 92 near Stam’s Greenhouse, 2421 Highway 92 east of Oskaloosa.

Mahaska County Sheriff’s deputies and Mahaska Ambulance personnel responded to the accident. Two Oskaloosa Police officers set up a perimeter on Highway 92 at the intersection of Osburn Avenue to redirect traffic away from the accident scene.

A life-flight helicopter responded to the scene of the accident and a second helicopter was requested around 3:55 p.m. to take victims to Mahaska Hospital.

Officials at the Mahaska County E911 Center did not have any further details Sunday afternoon.
