‘A Musical Variety Show’ entertains at senior center

OSKALOOSA — This variety show featured singers, dancers and musicians.

On Sunday afternoon, the Agency on Aging presented “A Musical Variety Show,” which featured the Transform Academy Dance Troupe under the instruction of Chris Yarkosky at the Mahaska County Senior Center, 715 B Ave. E. The show also included performances by Oskaloosa High School Orchestra Ensemble students of Bruce McClellan and the William Penn Singers, directed by Anita Meinert.

Sally Posovich, a member of the board of directors at the center, said the Transform Academy Dance Troupe were “as cute as can be.”

The event invited visitors to make a free-will offering to the center, which is a non-profit organization. Posovich noted that attendees were not required to make a free-will offering.

“A Musical Variety Show” wasn’t just a fund-raising effort for the center. It was also meant to entertain, of course.

“It’s just a get-together, you know,” said Posovich.

Agency on Aging volunteers were also recognized at Sunday’s event.
