Piercing the Darkness to play at the Iowa State Fair

SIGOURNEY — For the fourth year in a row, Piercing the Darkness, a Christian rock and worship band from southeast Iowa, will be performing at the Iowa State Fair in Des Moines on Thursday, Aug. 8, on the Susan Knapp Amphitheater Stage at 10:30 a.m.

The show is free with your paid admission to the Iowa State Fair.

The band, which consists of Steve Shettler, of Sigourney, on lead vocals; Brian Root, of Ottumwa, on lead guitar; Ken Finch, of New Sharon, on rhythm guitar; Tammy Finch, of New Sharon, on bass guitar; and Curt Roozeboom, of New Sharon, on drums, will perform a 45 minute set of mostly original music along with a few of their more popular cover songs.
