Sabina De Jong manages the Klothes Kloset at the New Hope Community Center, now she is opening Sabina's Kloset to help support programs at the New Hope Community Center.
Sabina's Kloset is part of the Klothes Kloset and there was an open house Friday and Saturday to show off the new addition to the New Hope Center.
“This is the first day of Sabina's Kloset,” De Jong said Friday morning.
During the two-day open house, every in the New Hope Community Center was open to the public. While browsing around, people could enjoy refreshments.
De Jong said Sabina's Kloset was opened to offer customers new or gently used clothing in the $5 to $10 range. Clothing sizes range from infants to 5X, she added.
“A lot of the money we make here goes to different programs that New Hope does,” De Jong said. “We have lots of people come and shop.”
De Jong expected a good crowd to come the center during the open house. Friday morning, about a dozen people had arrived during the first couple hours.
De Jong also gave an update about the United Way Winter Coat Drive that is happening at the Klothes Kloset.
The coat drive is going “very well,” De Jong said. “We've given away about 175 coats.”
