Osky community theater schedules auditions for summer play

OSKALOOSA — Oskaloosa Community Theater will offer a Pulitzer Prize-winning play as its summer offering. Auditions for this powerful drama are Tuesday, May 28, and Wednesday, May 29, at 7 p.m. in the George Daily Theater.

“Wit,” written by Margaret Edson, is a compelling play about a woman facing the worst possible outcome with humor and tremendous insight.

The co-directors, William Penn University professor Scott Arnold and OCT veteran Alex North, are looking for at least seven actors for these challenging roles.

No experience is necessary and all members of the community are strongly encouraged to come audition.

The roles involve men and women from the late teens to the seventies and include:

Vivian Bearing, PH.D. age 30s-50s,

Harvey Kelekian, M.D. age 40s-60s,

Jason Posner, M.D. age 20s-30s,

Susie Monahan, R.N., B.S.N. age 20s-30s,

E.M. Ashford, D. Phil age 40s-60s,

Mr. Bearing 30s-60s,

Vivian’s father 40s-60s.

OCT is looking forward to having the community come out to audition. It is a rare opportunity to perform in a play awarded the Pulitzer Prize for outstanding drama.

Performance dates are August 2 and 3.
