The Mahaska County Board of Supervisors approved a $2,200 contract with Snyder & Associates for a wetland study of 220th Street near Leighton during its meeting Monday.
The study will be conducted in relation to a bridge project.
“It's an important project that needs to be done,” Supervisor Mike VanderMolen said.
In other action, the supervisors approved a contract with Area 15 Regional Planning for technical assistance with the Hazard Mitigation Plan. It passed on a 2-1 vote with VanderMolen voting against it.
The supervisors also approved the sale of the county's Secondary Road Department shop in Leighton to the city of Leighton for $11,000. The measure passed by a 2-1 vote with Supervisor Mark Doland voting against it.
The supervisors also unanimously approved an EMS Association grant application for about $4,800.
The supervisors also unanimously passed law enforcement agreements between the sheriff's office and the cities of Eddyville, Beacon and University Park. Board Chairman Greg Gordy said the contract amounts were the same as last year's.
