Oskaloosa boy takes second in State Fair chess competition The Oskaloosa Herald DES MOINES — Competitors from across the state put their brains to the test in the Chess Contest, held Wednesday, Aug. 13, at the 2008 Iowa State Fair. The Scholastic division was open to any student from grade 12 or lower. The Speed Chess division was open to all ages.
