Question of the Week: Do you agree with the Casey Anthony verdict?

The Oskaloosa Herald

OSKALOOSA — A solid majority of readers who answered this past week’s Question of the Week: Does the president’s Afghanistan withdrawal plan go too slow or too fast? said TOO SLOW.

Fifty-three — 59 percent — said TOO SLOW while 31 — 34 percent — answered TOO FAST and six — 7 percent — replied I DON’T CARE.

The Question of the Week poll is not scientific and only reflects the opinions of those Internet users who have chosen to participate. The Question of the Week is just another way the Herald’s readers can voice their opinions about issues that affect them.

This week’s Question of the Week deals with the Casey Anthony case.

Tuesday, Anthony was found not guilty of killing her 2-year-old daughter.

Anthony, 25, wept as the judge read the verdict, which jurors reached after less than 11 hours of deliberation over two days. She was charged with first-degree murder, which could have brought the death penalty if she had been convicted, the Associated Press reported.

Instead, she was convicted of only four counts of lying to investigators looking into the June 2008 disappearance of her daughter Caylee. Her body was found in the woods six months later and a medical examiner was never able to determine how she died. She will be sentenced by the judge on Thursday and could receive up to a year in jail for each lying count, the AP reported.

Was justice served?

What do you think?
