Well, I hope that we have seen the last of snow for a long time. Tuesday we saw some snow flurries and very cold temperatures. Luckily, the snow flurries just remained as flurries and we saw no accumulation. Temperatures over the next few days look to get back to normal with temperatures ranging from the mid 60s to the upper 70s. There also looks to be no major chances of precipitation. Now that’s back to normal.
This week, I would like to remind area residents of a VERY important deadline coming up. The following is from a press release from the Mahaska County Recorder’s Office. “The Mahaska County Recorder’s Office would like to remind all boat owners that all boat registrations will expire April 30th. A $5.00 penalty will go on each registration on May 1st. The Recorder’s Office will be open Saturday April 27th, from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm for customers who can’t make it into the office during regular business hours. Any questions, call Diane Upton Crookham at 641-673-8187.”
I would like to add to that press release by emphasizing how important it is for you to get this done ASAP. DO NOT wait until the last minute to renew your boat registration. It will only frustrate things for you and the office staff.
