How to vote with an absentee ballot

The Oskaloosa Herald

OSKALOOSA — We are on a return to normalcy. Besides part of that being Warren G. Harding’s presidential campaign slogan in 1920, that’s what it seems to be doing here weather wise. Last week, temperatures shifted between the 70s and 90s. This week, temperatures look to start as low as 61 before rising up to the lower 70s. Overnight lows should be in the low 40s! There’s also a good chance of rain on Thursday.

Question: When does absentee voting begin and how can I get a ballot?

Absentee voting officially begins in Iowa on Sept. 27. According to the Mahaska County Web site, “The earliest an absentee ballot will be mailed to the voter is Thursday September 27th.” The Web site also lists a link where you can fill out an absentee ballot request form. These forms are to be returned to the Mahaska County Auditor’s Office. You can also vote absentee in person at the Auditor’s Office. If you have any questions, the staff at the Mahaska County Auditor’s Office can assist you. You can call them at 673-7148. You can also locate them on the first floor of the courthouse.
