---- — The Centerville City Council Monday night voted to table the Centerville Municipal Airport request to apply for a Federal Aviation Agency grant to purchase land surrounding the airport in order to be FAA compliant because the grant amount increased. They did set a special meeting for 5:30 p.m. Wednesday to address the new grant amount application.
The old FAA grant amount was $470,000. The new grant amount is now $487,780.
Jay Rodgers, who serves on the Airport Commission, said the increase was due to the need for a 5 percent contingency fee.
The city’s match amount under the new grant amount is $48,778
