Centerville council plans to appoint mayor

When Jim Senior died in early August, Centerville found itself without a sitting mayor. Now, the city council plans to appoint someone to fill out the rest of the term.

Residents interested in consideration for the vacant mayor position have until Friday, Aug. 23 to submit a letter of interest to City Hall.

The council will interview the applicants on Monday, Aug. 26, and plans to make the appointment at their first regular meeting in September.

The person chosen will serve out the remainder of the term that expires at the end of this year.
