Moravia house destroyed in fire

MORAVIA — Firefighters from Centerville and Moravia spent several hours Friday afternoon fighting a fire that started in the attic of a Moravia home.

The Moravia Fire Department was paged to 307 N. Brandon Ave. in Moravia for a house fire at approximately 3:06 p.m. Friday. The Centerville Fire Department was called in for mutual aid at 3:21 p.m.

Firefighters fought the blaze for a couple of hours, into the early evening hours on Friday.

The Moravia Fire Department had to return to the hose just after 11 p.m. on Friday as the fire had rekindled. The house was partially engulfed according to scanner traffic before it was extinguished again by the Moravia Fire Department.
