Burglary suspect Todd facing multiple charges

(Continued)

KNOXVILLE —

• Count 1-Burglary in the First Degree: Todd allegedly broke into the home of Blake Van Roekel at 342 Highway 14 in Otley. During the break-in, Van Roekel interrupted Todd and the suspect allegedly drew a handgun and threatened the man. Law enforcement collected evidence at the scene, including a pair of gloves and a Sunny D bottle. The suspect's vehicle was also identified by the homeowner as an escape was made.

During the execution of the search warrant, among the items recovered was a pill bottle that had the name of Van Roekel's wife on it. Todd allegedly admitted to law enforcement that he had taken money from a wallet at the home.

• Count 2-Burglary in the Third Degree: Todd is accused of breaking in to Kline's Kars on Nov. 16. Items recovered during a search include two calendars and prescription medications stolen during this incident.

• Count 3-Burglary in the Third Degree: This charge alleges that Todd broke into Skull Duggery Tattoo in Knoxville on Dec. 18. Items allegedly taken, which were located behind the tattoo parlor, were recovered during the search.

• Counts 4 and 5-Burglary in the Third Degree: Two vehicles, parked outside of the Cobblestone Inn in Knoxville on Dec. 18, were broken into. Todd allegedly stole items from one vehicle and damaged a window, as well as a tool box on a second vehicle. Items stolen from the first vehicle included boots and a coat, which had a combined value of $890.

• Count 6-Burglary in the Third Degree: Anthony Emry of 1199 Erbe Drive returned to his home after taking his wife to an appointment on Dec. 18, when he discovered that his home had been ransacked and several items missing. Missing items included a 410 shotgun, a .20 gauge shotgun and a Remington 870, as well as mugs full of change. Todd allegedly confessed to taking these items and hiding them in a shed. Information about this burglary, as well as the incident at the Van Roekel home, were not released to the public prior to Todd's arrest. This is noted in the criminal complaints.
